3 Greatest Investing Books of All Time
By Katrina Robinson
If you’re interested in getting started in investing, then you’ll certainly want to do your research first. Even if you’re already a practiced investor, there are several books on investing that will help to lead you towards success. Following are our top three investing books of all time. Buy yourself (and your business partner, best friend, spouse, and anyone else that’s interested in investing) a copy of each and then report back to us.
1. The Intelligent Investor, Benjamin Graham
The Intelligent Investor is commonly referred to as the Bible of investing. Even Warren Buffet has stated that it’s the best book he’s ever read. Although it was first published in 1949, the book has rung true through the decades. In fact, there have been revised editions published in order to take into account the changing economic times. Graham’s philosophy focuses on minimizing loss rather than maximizing gain, and this book offers an in-depth look at that philosophy and how it can help to make you a better investor.
2. One Up on Wall Street, Peter Lynch
Peter Lynch is one of America’s most successful money managers, and he has put all of his experience and wisdom into One Up on Wall Street. Lynch believes that investors can become just as knowledgeable as Wall Street pros about selecting winning stocks—all they need is to do the research. Since its initial publication, this book has been updated to include a new intro by the author that addresses the ever-changing aspects of Internet stocks.
3. Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits and Other Writings, Philip A. Fisher
This is another book that Warren Buffet loves. He stated that Philip A. Fisher’s techniques “enables one to make intelligent investment commitments.” While Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits was first published in 1958, it still offers itself as an invaluable resource when it comes to investing.
There you have it: our three greatest investment books of all time. Do you agree with our assessment, or are there some books that you think should have made the list?
