Capitalism is a socio-economic system in which private ownership means profit for the owner. the owner controls the means of production, so that the benefit to the owner of a private business. in capitalism, free markets determine the production, distribution and pricing of goods and services.

Capitalism began in the seventeenth century Europe and is associated with European enlightenment. European enlightenment centered on the idea of ??individual freedom to pursue their own economic interests to make a profit. capitalism realize a profit through the means of production along with the work to produce the goods.

Labor in a capitalist system is called the wage labor as wages must be paid to workers. the means of production, everything else necessary for the production of goods such as land and property rights to it. run businesses in the capital and the capital is what capitalists do. the capital value items that can produce more wealth.

Capitalism is seen as a socio-economic system, it is not just a way to make money and earn a living, but also a way of thinking about social organization. Capitalism is based on the idea of ??individualism and that individuals have the right to economic freedom. Communism is considered the opposite of capitalism that is based on collectivism, and share the wealth, rather than individualism and individual wealth.

It is important to note the existence of laissez-faire capitalism and subsequently replaced by the Keynesian system. laissez-faire means ‘let go’ in French and laissez-faire is when the government allows all of its control over trade and economic interests are and lets you take control of the market in all aspects. a fundamental theory behind laissez-faire capitalism is that unemployment is voluntary because the individual choice to pursue profit.

The Great Depression, a period of economic decline in the last decade of 1930, led to high unemployment rates that were not entirely voluntary, and this led to the death of laissez-faire capitalism. rescue of capitalism is attributed to English economist John Maynard Keynes. Keynes says that “the importance of money flows to be a link between the present and future.” its innovative approach that analyzes the macroeconomic business cycles and labor markets helped prevent the economic downturn. methodology of Keynesian economics still further the growth of capitalism today.
