Esbozábamos space in our previous Mercantile College Canary Expert was founded May 15, 1908 and, after several amendments had become what it is today in the Official College of Commercial and Business at Santa Cruz Tenerife (Cotime), chaired by Antonio Pérez Viera which, in turn, replaced Benito Rodriguez Regalado, under whose auspices was published “The 90 years of Cotime”, volume CajaCanarias generously sponsored by and written by our colleague Antonio Salgado Perez which is now preparing another book, “100 years of Cotime. Remembrances of the Business School, also sponsored by the aforementioned and pragmatic financial institution.
On February 1, 1939, and by resolution of the leadership of Technical Vocational Education, with the authorization of the Ministry of Education approved the transfer of the Business School, from its temporary headquarters on Calle Viera y Clavijo, in the Palacio Municipal, the Seri Imeldo Institute building, located in the street Twenty-five of July, of this capital.
Neoclassical mansion
In this beautiful neo-classical mansion (Imeldo donation Seri-Granier and White from 1848 to 1904), read Villasegura Marquis also designed by the architect Manuel Cruz Chamber and the former School of Commerce had, for over thirty years, its height . In one of their living quarters, looking almost secluded chapel, Cotime found one of its colorful venues. Previously, one of these, for example, was located on the second floor of the aforementioned city of Santa Cruz, adjacent to the College of Commerce, as already indicated, and at the end of the decade of the 30 century, continued to occupy several rooms in the city council of Santa Cruz.
