Role of Economic and Financial Phenomenology
The genesis of which was later called Royal Academy of Economics and Finance is the desire of the Catalan bourgeoisie to create a representative body of economic activity. This aspiration was consolidated March 16, 1758 when King Fernando VI approved the establishment of the “Real Junta Particular de Comercio”, which led to the old Academy of Commerce founded on April 26, 1787, and over the years following the events of that turbulent period leading to serious instabilities in academic circles, suffering different fates of disappearance and reappearance. Wars, political and social clashes, clashes between cultures, technological advances and a host of negative and positive factors do nothing but intensify the role of economic and financial phenomenology.
On February 19, 1943 was held at the Ateneo Barcelonés historic Constituent meeting of the Board of the latest recreation of the Academy of Economic and Financial Studies. By decree of January 1958 approving the name of Royal Academy of Economics and Finance (RACEF) and is qualified as official body of scientific or technical nature. The Real RACEF Corporation is the only Spanish level which has its headquarters in Barcelona and not in the capital of the Kingdom.
By Royal Decree of December 7, 1979, the Corporation came under the High Patronage of HM D. King Juan Carlos I to the February 16, 2004 visited the head office and invited scholars to further deepen the study of economics and finance and expand the light of knowledge to all countries.
