A Real Case of Valuation of Companies

As part of the seminar will be presented the book “Corporate Finance, a Latin American Approach (Alfaomega, 2nd edition) by Dr. Guillermo López Dumrauf, financial consultant and professor at the Universidad del CEMA. It will present the most relevant topics of the chapter that describes a real case of valuation of companies in emerging markets. Emerging markets raise a number of conditions that warrant adjustments to the traditional models of valuation. Will address three recurring problems:

# Projected cash flows in domestic currency or foreign currency, taking into account inflation and the trend of nominal devaluation of domestic currency.
# Lack of market values.
# Capital Structure and WACC.

Dumrauf Book ABOUT THE BOOK

This new edition retains a number of features that readers appreciated the first edition: it was written directly in Spanish with a lively language, greater integration between the large blocks of finance and primarily Latin American profile, a feature that the author delved into this issue. Includes various statistics of Latin American markets and more real examples on the use of finance in this place in the world. This justifies the subtitle: A Latin American Approach.

The author also incorporates the latest in the theory learned and experience gained over the last years of his practice in financial consulting. It is natural that when the theory is confronted with the reality appear tensions, which is why Dr. William L. Dumrauf efforts to strengthen the link between science and reality, in order to help managers make better financial decisions.
